Postgraduate study

We offer personal academic advice and assistance to plan and complete your programme of study for an honours degree, postgraduate certificate or diploma, masters or doctorate in Education.

If you are based in Northland and interested in postgraduate study, support is available through Tai Tokerau Campus:

  • Academic advice with study plans
  • Library access for distance students
  • Academic writing support
  • Individual support with queries related to postgraduate study
  • Contact the Education student Centre on 0800 61 62 63 or by email education@auckland.ac.nz

Selected postgraduate courses are offered through online study.* The Faculty of Education and Social Work also offers many courses as “block” or “selected dates” at Epsom Campus in Auckland, meaning rather than a weekly lecture you only need to travel a few times to Auckland to complete the course. These courses are often during the school holidays and weekends. Courses usually also require independent study outside of on-campus dates.

Depending on your research area, supervision of your research thesis or dissertation can be undertaken by an academic staff member based at Tai Tokerau Campus or by distance with an Auckland-based supervisor.

*Some online/study guide courses include a few on-campus days that you will need to travel to Auckland to attend. Check course timetables.
