Externally funded research projects
Read details about the Faculty's externally funded research projects.
Faculty research has a very strong professional focus that comes from broad exposure to policy, practice and the classroom, combined with a tradition of creativity, research vigour and innovation. Much of our externally funded research is undertaken in association with UniServices.
A sample of recent contracts is listed below.
asTTle stands for Assessment Tools for Teaching and Learning (He Pūnaha Aromatawai mō te Whakaako me te Ako). It is an educational resource for assessing literacy and numeracy (in both English and Māori) developed for the Ministry of Education by the University of Auckland.
asTTle provides teachers, students, and parents with information about a student's level of achievement, relative to the curriculum achievement outcomes, for levels 2 to 6 and national norms of performance for students in years 4 to 12.
e-asTTle is the online version of asTTle. It includes reading, mathematics, writing, pānui, pāngarau and tuhituhi, as well as e-asTTle Numeracy Project Assessments and several new features in response to feedback from teachers and principals who have been using asTTle v4.
