  • Extensive Bilingual/ Immersion Education experience and language teaching: Maori Medium and Pasifika Bilingual Education (since 1972, Maori; 1985 Pasifika)
  • Executive member of Te Reo Maori Society. VUW / Otara/ Aotearoa
  • Former chair NZEI Maori Education Committee
  • Joint author Te Tatai Hono, 1982 Maori Education report to NZEI Annual meeting
  • Consultant NZEI, Pasifika Bilingual Education
  • Member Ministry of Education’s National Maori Language Syllabus Committee 1980-1990
  • Executive member of Ulimasao Pasifika Bilingual Education Association
  • Research consultant to Te Puna Wanaanga, ACE Bilingual /Immersion education 1990- 2005
  • Research consultant and course writer, Faculty Pasifika, ACE PIECE ECE (language nests) Diploma of Teaching Course
