Stephen Slater-Brown

“I decided to become a teacher because I always found it very satisfying training other employees, and friends would tell me I’d make a good teacher. My wife is in a school leadership role, which gave me insight into the school environment. I also have two young sons so the opportunity to spend more time with my family also appealed to me.

“My immediate goal is to become a good classroom teacher, someone who can instil an enthusiasm for learning and show that it can be interesting and enjoyable. I think it’s important to teach children not only to ask questions, but to equip them with the ability to find answers to those questions and become self-directed learners.”

Stephen Slater-Brown is studying for a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Primary). He already holds an Honours degree in Psychology and has a background working in financial services in London.
