Student Representation

A Class Rep is a student who volunteers at the start of each semester to represent the interests of students to the lecturers in charge of those courses. They provide an important link between students and the staff in a Department. They give the Department feedback on the courses and any problems or concerns that students raise. They also communicate with the class and are available to hear students’ concerns about courses, to help them directly or suggest where they could go for help.

If you want to know who your class rep is or if you want to know how to become one then you can contact the Advocacy Manager at the WAVE office at advocate@auckland.ac.nz.

Class Parties

Any class rep can organise a class party. All you need to do is collect $2.00 per person, complete the Functions form and take the money and form to Margaret Lewis at the ETTSA office.

Join the Student association

Once you have settled into the university life, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to participate in student affairs. ETTSA (Epsom Tai Tokerau Students’ Association) is run by students, for students, at Epsom and Tai Tokerau campuses. ETTSA works in partnership with, AUSA (Auckland University Students' Association).

The main role of the association is to support its student members. Its representatives are there to help you with things like organising sport equipment loans, international student identity cards, Student Job Search, public phones, budgeting advice and hardship grants. You and your queries are always welcome in the office located at the Epsom campus.

On the student affairs and recreational side, the association organises clubs and runs social, cultural, sporting and recreational activities.
