Scholarships in teaching
There are a number of scholarships in teaching available to students enrolled at the Faculty of Education.
If you’ve dreamed of going teaching, now is the time to act.
By enrolling at the Faculty of Education at The University of Auckland, you’ll be eligible to apply for:
TeachNZ scholarships worth up to $10,000 available for 2012
If you are a School Leaver or Undergraduate, and want to teach in te reo Māori or become a teacher of te reo Māori, a TeachNZ School Leaver and Undergraduate Scholarship may be just what you've been waiting for. Scholarships cover core study fees and pay an allowance of $10,000 over the period of study. Scholarships are available for people who are either proficient or fluent in te reo Māori and who wish to work as a primary teacher in bilingual or immersion classes or as a secondary teacher. Scholarship applications close: 1 March 2012.
There are also scholarships worth up to $10,000 enrolled in the following programmes:
- Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Pasifika Early Childhood Education
- Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Huarahi Māori specialisation
- Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Education – conditions apply
- Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood Education)
- Graduate Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) - in subjects of demand including Chemistry, English, Mathematics, Physics, Te reo Māori.
