Science, Mathematics and Technology
Welcome to the School of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education.
Our focus is on teaching, research and scholarship in the areas of science, mathematics and technology teacher education. The staff offer quality education to assist early childhood, primary and secondary teachers who are preparing themselves to help children and young adults develop understanding, knowledge and skills.
Our staff are skilled educators with proven teaching experience, involvement in education research, and a commitment to the education of excellent teachers. Involvement in the professional development of practising teachers is strong with a number of staff actively involved in working with teachers in early childhood centres, schools and in local and national teacher associations.
The courses we teach are based on promoting best teaching practice, involve some lecturer modeling, and are underpinned by a belief in constructivist learning theory and current research findings.
