This postgraduate diploma is unique in New Zealand in that it offers a wide range of educational and business skills and knowledge needed by New Zealand’s current and aspiring educational leaders. The courses are taught by nationally and internationally respected professional and academic staff from both The Faculty of Education and The Graduate School of Enterprise (Business School).
The Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management provides participants with the educational and management skills they need to be outstanding leaders. It is suited to current and aspiring leaders of educational organisations and to those who manage education and training functions in other organisations. The programme includes highly practical courses and projects and is carefully scheduled to minimise conflict with professional commitments. A student with an average grade of B or higher for the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management can apply for entry into the Master of Educational Management.
The programme includes compulsory courses in Educational Leadership, School Improvement, Managing Organisations and People, as well as courses from the Postgraduate Diploma in Business schedule.

If you want to take your studies further, and have completed this postgraduate diploma with an average grade of B or higher, you can apply to enrol in a Master of Educational Management and then move to doctoral level to maximise your career and salary prospects.
Offered as weekly face-to-face and block courses at Epsom Campus (Faculty of Education courses) and City Campus (Graduate School of Enterprise (Business School) courses) with some courses offered as flexible self-directed study.
