Taking on tertiary studies can be overwhelming, especially if you haven’t studied for a long time. We have a great mix of school-leavers and mature students who come from varied backgrounds and all walks of life. Regardless of what age our students are or from what corners of Aotearoa they come from, our students, staff and our graduates have one thing in common - genuine interest and passion to make a difference for our tamariki.

As a teacher you’ll have the opportunity to inspire and help our young people to reach their full potential and enable them to become confident global citizens.

Our role is to provide you with the knowledge and skills you will need to be effective from day one when you start your teaching career.

Getting the best of both worlds

Studying at Te Puna Wananga means that you’ll have the best of both worlds. You’ll gain a highly regarded qualification from New Zealand’s leading university while enjoying our whakawhanaukitanga - the whanau-based, close-knit and supportive environment you’ll find at our Epsom and Tai Tokerau campuses.

You’ll learn in small classes, which means you’ll really get to know your classmates as well as enjoy a more interactive class with your lecturers.

See the welcome message from joint head of school.
