I joined The University of Auckland in 1999 and recently Te Puna Wānanga at The Faculty of Education. I am Tumu Whakarai / Manager of Te Korowai Atawhai (Māori Academic Support Service).
Te Korowai Atawhai means ‘the cloak of kindness, warmth and support’. At Te Korowai Atawhai we believe that each student is unique and possesses the potential to succeed in their chosen academic pathways. Supporting this belief is the provision of a service that compliments the different learning styles and life-needs of students.
My iwi affiliation is Ngāpuhi and I am a current Board member of Te Rūnanga Ā Iwi Ō Ngāpuhi and am the Trustee representative for Te Taurahere Ō Ngāpuhi Ki Te Tonga Ō Tāmaki Makaurau.
