Teaching Area/Interests

Interested in spirituality, well-being and holistic approaches to education, children & their learning, sociocultural theory & theories of social construction,,developmental issues in the early years and the role of the professional teacher,

Interested in narrative and the construction of the self through story, different philosophies: the approach to education of Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Loris Malaguzzi (Reggio Emilia preschools),student experience and the image of the teacher, advocacy & the rights of children and their families.

Research Interests (area & methodologies)

Qualitative approaches, case study and narrative inquiry, feminist post-structural perspectives, I am very interested in the ethics of qualitative research especially when children are participants in research.

Other information, interests or things that drive you

The environment and sustainability, the impact of globalisation, wider issues in the world drive me in terms of the impact on generations to come.. Art, literature and films inspire me.
