Qilong is currently concentrating on his EdD research which looks into parental involvement in early childhood services settings among Chinese immigrants in New Zealand. Qilong took a teaching position in Nanjing Normal University as his first job in 1990. Then he worked as the Japanese representative to Xinnan School of Education in China for 5 years. In 2001 he started to work for Erican Education Group, Malaysia’s largest language training institution. In 2002, he was appointed GM of Erican English Training Beijing Ltd. In March of 2004, he immigrated into New Zealand and became a management team member of International College of Auckland.
