Student-led Conferences - An Alternative Reporting Method

Literacy and the Performing Arts were curriculum strengths, Leadership, Professional Development and Assessment pedagogy as it links to developing a Learning Community that supports learners at all levels of the school are areas of interest

Research Interests (area & methodologies)

Student-led Conferences as an alternative reporting system - This study looks to address issues with traditional reporting methods, to support and develop effective teaching pedagogy as it links to student knowledge, understanding and ownership of their learning, to give students a voice in the reporting process and to involve parents more effectively in their children’s learning

Current research on the effectiveness of Student-led Conferences is being conducted using Case Study Methodology using qualitative and quantitative data.

Qualifications / Degrees

  • B.A. Major in Anthropology - The University of Auckland
  • M.Ed (Hons) in Education - The University of Auckland

Previous professional experience (prior to present position)

Teacher for 11 years, Worked for five years in Senior Management, Have been a Principal for four years
