My professional background in primary classroom teaching and my experience in leadership, mentoring, and curriculum support and development roles, together with my current study toward a Master of Education degree, informs my teaching of Social Studies Education for undergraduate and graduate students.
My New Zealand professional experience includes seven years primary teaching experience; two years lecturing in Social Studies, Technology and Professional Practice at Auckland College of Education; and one year teaching part-time in a community kindergarten. During seven years spent living in Europe and Asia, I taught English to children and adult learners in Germany, and taught for two years in the elementary area at the International School of Manila. I currently lecture in Social Studies and Social Sciences Education for students completing primary and early childhood teaching qualifications.
