Isabel is a Principal Lecturer in Social Studies and Environmental Education. Her educational career has been focused on Years 1-8 in New Zealand primary schools and lecturing teacher education. She has a strong interest in curriculum design and development and her recently completed Master of Education research investigated how primary school teachers in a Years 3 - 4 syndicate planned their Social Studies programme. Isabel has also recently completed a National Educational Monitoring Project (NEMP) probe project examining year 8 students’ knowledge about New Zealand society. She is currently working on an aspect of collaborative research in the area of citizenship.
