NCEA Course Choices: Who makes them, how and why?
Interviews with students, their parents/caregivers and teachers in this project find out why and how high school students choose particular NCEA subjects and standards, or whether such choices are made for them.
The Road Less Travelled
This project follows the experience of transition from school to university for students currently under represented in university education.
Massey High School Evaluation Project
A guided Academic Target Setting and counselling programme which advises and monitors student achievement and choices at Massey High School is the focus of this evaluation.
Standards Availability Project
In this project secondary schools have been surveyed to determine the "quantity" of level 3 NCEA standards available at each school with a view to modeling the success rates of students in achieving University Entrance.
Other Quantitative Projects
Projects in progress involve school success predictors in terms of grade point average scores and school decile, different criteria for university entrance and detailed analysis of the academic achievement of students from Starpath’s partner schools.
