Title
"Sustainability Factors in eLearning Initiatives"

Abstract
This research investigates the key factors that differentiate localized e-learning initiatives that grow to become sustainable in the long term, from those that remain the isolated work of keen individuals. The work is important to institutions because it influences an important aspect of teaching and learning strategy. It is important to individuals and groups of staff as it can provide guidelines for planning, implementing and evaluating faculty-based e-learning initiatives. The outcomes of such initiatives represent either incentives and rewards, or disincentives for continued and future engagement by academic staff.
