NZATD AUCKLAND BRANCH INVITE YOU TO A SPECIAL EVENT ON Tuesday 6 March 2007 : 5.30 pm

THINKING BEYOND with Philip Patston and colleagues from Diversityworks Group

Thinking beyond

  • Beyond disability to functional diversity
  • Beyond diversity to social synergy
  • Beyond survival to brain development
  • Beyond the Treaty to a global understanding of tikanga

This event will be presented by Philip Patston and colleagues from Diversityworks Group who will offer their latest thinking about diversity and organisations and tools for thinking beyond... Phillip is an excellent facilitator, an experienced diversity specialist and comedian.

Along with Carol Waterman & Wharetatao King they will engage and inspire us around this important topic in this After Work event.

About our presenter : Philip Patston

Comedian, Consultant, Columnist
Philip Patston is a comedian, consultant, columnist, recovering social worker and human rights activist, among other things. He is gay, disabled, vegetarian and English.
He is probably best-known for his live and broadcast work, particularly on the stand-up comedy television show Pulp Comedy (1997-2003), and vaguely remembered for his brief heterosexual role on Shortland Street (1999), and was awarded a Billy T James award for commitment and contribution to the industry by the NZ Comedy Trust.

In 2000, Philip created Diversityworks, now a multi-faceted enterprise that includes a business group offering expertise in managing diversity and change, and a trust that runs projects to improve diversity and professional participation in the arts.

Philip lives in Auckland and travels regularly in New Zealand. His work has taken him to Australia, the US, Canada, the UK and Belgium.
