School Leadership Centre

Foundation of the School Leadership Centre
The University of Auckland School Leadership Centre (UASLC) was founded in 1985 and is modelled on the Principals Centre at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (founded in 1981).

Previously known as The University of Auckland Principals’ Centre the name change now reflects more accurately the team and distributive nature of leadership in schools.

UASLC is founded on the belief that practitioners who are reflective about their professional work and are engaged in a sustained exchange of ideas with colleagues have greater potential to create schools in which students have positive and productive learning experiences.

What we offer school leaders
We present high quality professional development for principals and other school leaders. Expert education and business leaders within New Zealand as well as respected international educational leaders present local and international perspectives.

These events and activities enable school leaders to learn about the latest research in school leadership and educational practice and provide strategies for improving the learning of students.
