Mentoring Principals Programme

This programme provides rich learning for both mentors and mentored principals. It offers an opportunity for people to identify a mentoring partnership and formalise it by enrolling in the programme which provides structure, support and accountability.

Mentors receive some financial recompense for the time involved, which places it on a different basis from an informal arrangement. Training is provided for mentors and professional learning groups are established to give on-going support.

The programme runs from mid-term 1 until the end of term 3 and focuses on a specific issue identified by the mentored principal. Contact is maintained by email, telephone, face-to-face and on-site visits to each others schools. Electronic templates provide a structure to record progress.
