In our programmes centres are asked to involve all members of their teaching teams regardless of their qualification level. Playcentres are asked to provide a core group of 3-5 educators but all parents are welcomed.
This programme offers a centre 15-25 hours of dedicated facilitator support through meetings and workshops. The focus, timing and structure of the programme is negotiated with the centre.
Clusters of 3-8 Early Childhood settings meet 3-5 times during the programme, developing as a community of learners. In addition, the facilitator works with each setting within the cluster on an individual centre goal and action plan. At the final cluster meeting, centres share their individual journeys. Each cluster is allocated a total of 70 hours with each centre receiving 10-15 hours of that as individual support.
An opportunity for curriculum leaders and management teams of early childhood services to build organisational capacity. Programmes are flexible to suit the size and goals of the organisation and offer 4-20 hours of facilitator support.
An opportunity for E.C.E. settings and junior primary school teachers to come together to develop shared understandings of assessment for learning with a focus on transition. 32 hours total.
One-day seminars are offered during the year. They are targeted at centres who have not been successful in enrolling in longer Kei Tua o te Pae Professional Development priogrammes. In 2008 there will be a seminar in Northland and one in South Auckland. Information on dates and venues will be sent to centres and services and will also be available in the Bulletin Board.
Facilitators are available to answer your queries and to offer support by phone and email throughout the year. This support is not limited to services enrolled in the programmes outlines above.
