Welcome to the Centre for Educational Design & Development. This centre provides support and advice to lecturers on various aspects of the design and development of courses and programmes. In particular it works with lecturers to develop courses and programmes for flexible learning and teaching. Some programmes offered in the Faculty have both flexible and face-to-face teaching components - others are either entirely flexible or face-to-face.
All courses developed for flexible learning and teaching, model the conventional lecture-based courses in that students are enrolled into a class and a lecturer is assigned to that class. To ensure that students are provided with appropriate learning, CEDD’s staff include:
A ‘flexible’ course may comprise all or some of the following:
For students enrolled in a flexible course or programme, support is provided in the form of mail out of course materials, and the processing of assignments. The Student Guide: Flexible Learning is a handy guide to refer to.
