Ms Jillian Helen Shearer Rowe

Jillian began working at the Faculty of Education and Social Work at the start of 2016, initially as Professional Learning Manager before becoming Manager of the Kohia Centre. In this role Jillian is leading initiatives to secure the Kohia Centre as a leading provider of professional learning for teachers and other professionals within the education and social work sectors. The Kohia Centre aslo provides resources for practitioners and runs the Teacher Education Refresh programme on behalf of the Teaching Council.
Jillian trained as a secondary music teacher and worked as a teacher and middle leader in several secondary schools for 20 years. In 2015 she had a TeachNZ study award to write a thesis as part requirement for a Master of Educational Leadership degree, completed in 2016.
