"I began to consider a career in teaching after working in childcare in New York City for two years. I realised then that I absolutely loved working with children of all ages.
"Before applying to the University of Auckland, I volunteered as a classroom aide in an Auckland school. I met many teachers there who had completed the Graduate Diploma at the University, and they had nothing but positive things to say about the experience. I enrolled in the GradDipTchg(Primary) because it will help me achieve my goal of beginning my teaching career as soon as possible.
"I particularly enjoy the practicum placements, where I learn from real-life situations and everyday challenges. I find my cohort of students to be very friendly and helpful. I also enjoy the cultural diversity on campus.
"Overall I have had a really great time at University. I have met some amazing people and had the opportunity to experience living in one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world."
