My dream is to be an effective school leader in my home country of Cambodia.

I strongly believe that the Master of Educational Leadership will equip me with the knowledge and skills to achieve my dream, including solving complex problems for better school management. I chose to study at the University of Auckland because it is the highest-ranked university in New Zealand and one of the top 100 universities in the world.

Currently I am doing my masters research on “Leading teacher professional learning and development”. What I value most about my study is the opportunity to see the world from a different perspective, apart from the conventional, and make a difference in the workplace and in life.

I am enjoying my time a lot at the University of Auckland. I find the University staff and lecturers to be very helpful, supportive and friendly. I have also met many friends from different countries and cultures.

My advice to new international students is: Don’t be scared to ask. There is always a solution to your concern, which the University’s friendly academic and administrative staff can help you with. Also, get involved in the life of the University and never give up.
