Where can it take you?

This certificate is specifically designed as a pathway into our Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Huarahi Māori specialisation - a programme that qualifies you to apply for provisional teacher registration to teach in Māori medium and bilingual schools as well as mainstream primary and intermediate schools.

How do you get in?

Applicants must:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of New Zealand.

AND either of the following:

  • Have completed NCEA Level 2 at a New Zealand secondary school or its equivalent

OR

  • Be over 20 years of age.

Personal references and an interview are part of the selection process.
