Graduate pathways: Teaching and social work
Turn your passion into a worthwhile and rewarding career in teaching or social work
Are you ready for the next step toward a successful and rewarding career?
Our graduate pathways take just one year and will enhance your career options by providing you with the skills and knowledge to broaden your career opportunities provided by your existing degree.
If you have a degree in a subject area taught at secondary school, you could harness your passion for your subject area and make it meaningful for generations to come. And, if you have a degree in science, maths or te reo Maori, your knowledge and skills are in high demand in New Zealand schools throughout the country.
If you have a social sciences background, then the Master of Social Work Professional is the perfect gateway into the social work profession.
Adding education or social work to your existing degree may even take you in directions you had never previously considered such as community education programmes, training and professional development, aid-funded initiatives in war-torn countries or government policy development and implementation.
The Faculty of Education and Social Work offers a range of qualifications for graduates wanting to enhance their options and pursue a career in teaching or social work.
Whether it is a Graduate Diploma or Masters programme, talk to us about the right option for you.
