“I decided to enrol in the Master of Education (180 point) programme because the new fast-track option, where I can go straight from a bachelors degree, was really appealing.”

“I have always been interested in early childhood and children and used to work as a nanny, but I did not think about university study
until three years ago. Last year, I completed a Bachelor of Education (Teaching) in Early Childhood Education and really enjoyed my studies.

“I am currently studying EDUC 711 Gifted Learners: who are they? The subject really interests me and it is relevant to my research interest. I’m enjoying being able to spend a whole semester focusing on this fascinating and important topic.

“My long term goal is to become a researcher within the early childhood sector, perhaps contribute to initial teacher education programmes, and eventually pursue a doctoral degree. My short-term goal is to gain further practical experience with young learners in early childhood settings.

“I have found that the Faculty of Education and Social Work provides an environment where students can really engage with staff and research. I have made strong friendships with other students and I enjoy excellent support from highly dedicated and very approachable staff.”
