Ministry of Education course subsidies

The Tertiary Fees Funding Support Scheme, offered by the Ministry of Education, supports primary and intermediate teachers to undertake tertiary study in priority areas for teacher professional learning and development.

This scheme enables primary and intermediate teachers in state and state-integrated schools to complete a tertiary course (paper) that:

  • Responds to student achievement and engagement challenges, particularly in years 5-8.
  • Addresses issues of equity related to outcomes for Māori and Pacific students and students with special education needs.
  • Builds subject content knowledge in tandem with effective pedagogies for all learners.
  • Strengthens Communities of Learning.

Individuals or schools can apply to the Ministry of Education for reimbursement of up to 50% of the tuition fees.
Below are the courses offered by the Univeristy of Auckland and approved by the Ministry of Education for Tertiary Fees Funding Support.
