Graduate story: Ruby Simpson (FCertEd)
"The most enjoyable aspects of the Foundation Certificate Education was the support I was given and the relationships I built. We became a family of students, connecting and helping each other to succeed."Find out how the Foundation Certificate Education gave Ruby the confidence to begin the Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Primary specialisation.

Over the past week, students from Manukau and Epsom Campuses have celebrated the completion of their Foundation Certificate Education with whānau and friends.

The Foundation Certificate Education is a one-year bridging programme for those who are interested in studying at degree level but need to first build their study skills and confidence.

The programme is offered at Epsom, Manukau and Tai Tokerau Campuses and successful completion of the programme allows for admission into any of the undergraduate teaching, social work and sport, health and physical education programmes offered through the Faculty of Education and Social Work.

The faculty also offers a second foundation certificate. The Foundation Certificate Tohu Tūāpapa Mātauranga is specifically designed as a pathway into the Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Huarahi Māori specialisation.

Applications for both foundation certificates are now open.
